一、表示数量、数字时，表示“千、数以千计的、成千上万的、许许多多的、1 000到9 999间的数目、千位数”。

第一种：thousand与数词a、one、two等连用时，后面不加s。使用用法：基数词+thousand例句：There are one thousands balls in the box.翻译：这个盒子里有一千个球。第二种：若前面没有数目或数量，可用thousands (of...)。例句：The cost ran into the thousands.翻译：成本达到千位数。注意：除指金额外，thousand和thousands均用复数动词。
