1、意思上不一样。in front of...表示某人（某物）在...的前面，sth或sb不包括在所属的范围之内；而in the front of...同样表示某人（某物）在...的前面，但是sth或sb包括在所属的范围之内。2、范围上不一样。in front of表示“在……前面”，指范围之外的前面；in the front of表示“在……的前部”，指范围之内的前部。

例如：

I stand in front of the hospital。我站在医院前面（我没在医院内部）

I stand in the front of the hospital。我站在医院里的前面（我在医院内部）

　 There’s a bus stop in front of the school.学校前面有个公共汽车站。（范围之外）

I prefer to travel in the front of the car.我喜欢坐在汽车的前面。（范围之内）
