Nanyang Normal University （南阳师范学院）located in the national historical and cultural city -- Nanyang, is approved by the Ministry of Education as a full-time undergraduate higher education institution.

The school's history can be traced back to the Nanyang Normal Training Institute, which was founded in 1907.

In March 2000, with the approval of The State Council, Nanyang Higher Normal College merged with Nanyang Education College to form Nanyang Normal College. In 2011, it was approved as a professional postgraduate training unit, and began to recruit postgraduate students in 2012.
