ON the street ：指在这条街的路面上，at与地点名词搭配,常表示较小的地点和场合,街道门牌前用at. 无门牌号前street用in或on,如：in Baker Street/ in the High Street（英国用法）； on Larrie Street/ on Upper Beamish Street （美国用法）。

n the street和on the street的区别主要是：in 说的是在什么的里面 ；on 的边界处接壤的地方等意思；银行在路得边上， 和路接壤，所以用on 。例如：

1、The car is in the street .2、The bank is on the street . 可以这样理解，street是一条道，汽车等机动车都是在street上开的，所以用in；而bank这种固定物是在street的旁边，所以就用on。

两者的区别在于前者是躺在街上面，与onthetable的用法相类似，而后者是在街上的人群当中，没入其中，与inthehouse的用法相类似。
