动词开头的句子，（1）如果是祈使句，用动词原形（其实这是省略了主语you）。

如：答Go back to your seat.Open the window, please.（2）如果这个动词作主语，一般用ing。这时动词ing叫动名词，相当于一个名词。如：Listening to music is my favorite.听音乐是我的最爱。Seeing is believing.百闻不如一见。

（3）如果这个动词作主语，也可以用to do。这时不定式也相当于一个名词。如：To see is to believe.百闻不如一见。Not to grasp firmly is not to grasp at all.抓得不紧等于完全没抓。总之1、除了祈使句，句首不能用动词原形。

2、句首不能用动词的过去式、过去分词或现在分词。

动词在句首的有：

祈使句，一般疑问句，现在正在进行时态句首用的叹词。

祈使句：可用动词原形或者否定形式开头。

如：Sit down, please!

Don't be late!

一般疑问句：情态动词，be的各种形式，助动词在句首。

如：Can you do me a favor？

Do you like swimming

叹词在句首：

Look！They are playing football on the playground.
